WESTFIELD, NJ — Kessler Rehabilitation Center at 190 Elm Street will host a community blood drive on Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by Westfield-based caring and crisis hotline CONTACT We Care and Weichert, Realtors.

Summertime blood drives like this one help keep blood supplies from falling short during a critical time, as schools and colleges close for the summer and many employees take summer vacations, according to the New York Blood Center.

“We have been sponsoring quarterly blood drives at Kessler for over a year now and would love to break our record,” said Kessler Senior Physical Therapist Laurie Liss. “One person can help save a life.”
