Downtown Westfield Business Reports Theft of $6.4K in Jewelry

Melvin Gonzalez, 22, of Perth Amboy was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant in the amount of $114.00 out of Westfield Municipal Court pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Central Avenue and Wyoming Street. Gonzalez was transported to Westfield Police Department, processed, and released after posting full bail.

Paul Gordon of Plainfield was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant. Gordon was processed and released after posting bail.

December 6, 2013 10:41 a.m.

A resident from the 400 block of W. South Avenue reports being the victim of a theft/fraud. Victim states actor(s) charged $2,785.00 to the victim’s credit card.

December 6, 2013 6:30 p.m.

A resident of the 600 block of Glen Avenue reports being the victim of identity theft. Victim reports that unknown actor(s) opened several Verizon Wireless accounts in his name totaling a bill of $575.79.

December 6, 2013 9:32 p.m.

Courtney Schael, 50, of Westfield was arrested in the area of Wychwood Road and E. Broad Street on three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing the administration of law pursuant to a fire investigation. Schael was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters where she was processed and placed into cell #1. Bail was awaiting to be set.

December 9, 2013 12:40 p.m.

Ms. Katherine Parsons, 35, of Westfield was arrested on the strength of multiple warrants issued by the Westfield Municipal Court. Ms. Parsons was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters without incident for arrest processing. She was released after posting the requisite $640.00 bail.

December 10, 2013 9:58 a.m.

Report filed with regards to a theft in the 600 block of W. North Avenue. Suspect(s) unknown are alleged to have stolen approximately $6,400.00 in jewelry from a local business.
