April 18, 2014 at 9:46 AM

WESTFIELD, NJ — Girls' Night Out, Downtown Westfield’s huge twice-annual event, returns on April 24, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rain or shine, shops and restaurants throughout downtown will offer specials, sales, giveaways, complimentary refreshments, entertainment and more.

Listen for bands Watson led by Phil Rinaldi and Michael Doyle of the Michael Craig Band as you stroll outdoors and keep an eye out for the chivalrous local male dignitaries and volunteers greeting women and opening doors.

Attendees should stop by the registration area at 128 Elm Street before 8 p.m. to pick up brochures listing the evening’s events, giveaways and, for the first 1,300 who pre-registered, a complimentary gift from Lord & Taylor and Downtown Westfield Corporation (DWC). To register, click here.

Get in Shape for Women of Westfield will be one of many with tables in the registration area. The fitness studio will raffle off a basket of healthy items and offer discounted memberships.

“We are also going to have a health coach with us to answer questions regarding women’s health,” said owner Joe Maistickle.

More than 90 businesses will host events throughout downtown.

“This year Ella Allure will have designers in-store for any consult questions, we will have giveaways, introduce a new season’s fabric collections, pillows on sale and also refreshments for all,” said Daniela Palumbo, owner of Ella Allure Interior Design Center at 220 East Broad Street.

Carolyn Ann Ryan Photography, located upstairs at 7 Elm Street, will have raffles, including one for a family portrait session gift certificate, and will host venders from Wildtree, Matilda Jane clothing company, Thirty-One Gifts and Re:Organize Professional Organizing Services.

Limani Seafood Grill at 235 North Ave. West will offer $10 off dinner for any two ladies who mention Girls’ Night Out.

Thousands of women are expected to attend.

“The evening has become a semi-annual event which residents and local business owners look forward to,” said Sherry Cronin, executive director of the DWC. “The event continues to grow in popularity—both for the participants and the number of involved businesses. Usually, 33 percent of the ladies came from Westfield, while over 150 New Jersey towns and a few other states are represented. We hope that this time the turnout is as large and diverse.  Everyone has a great time.”
