Dr. Schlobohm, director of New Providence Chiropractic, will be traveling across the country to teach the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment protocols for sports injuries to Doctors of Chiropractic. He will be outlining new protocols and research to these professionals.
He will be sharing the high level of expertise in the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of professional, recreational and amateur sports injuries that the team at New Providence Chiropractic specializes in. “Sports cause many spinal injuries, repetitive sprains and strains injuries, concussions, muscle tears and a multitude of lower and upper limb conditions. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) states that by age 13, you have already experienced over 1000 traumas to your spine. The athlete multiplies this statistic because of the nature of their activities. These spinal injuries can restrict range of motion, reduce strength, slow reflexes, shorten endurance, and decrease your performance. These can be devastating to all athletes. Research and Clinical trials have shown that athletes under Chiropractic care improves performance by up to 10%-15%, reduces injuries, and accelerates recovery of many of these injuries.” commented Dr. Schlobohm.
A slight increase in your body's performance can make a difference in winning and losing. First place or second. In making the team...or not. In "starting"...or not. In getting that scholarship...or not. In winning that championship...or not. In recovering from an injury in time for that game...or not. Slow-motion replay is used in all professional sports now. Why? Because the difference in "safe" and "out" is sometimes so close it is impossible to see at normal speed. Even the slightest improvement in body reaction can make the difference in safe or out!
When treating the Decathlon Team, Dan O'Brien, Olympic Gold Medal winner in the Decathlon said, "Chiropractic is essential for running. If I could put a percentage value on it, I would say that I compete 8 - 10% better from regular chiropractic care."
Dr. Schlobohm is an expert in treating these types of injuries as well as providing information in preventing them from the first place. He has worked with many professional athletes, treated on the PGA tour and Olympians over the years. These athletes enjoy the benefits of his skill because they demand results. “My weekend athletes are even more demanding than some of our Olympians. Our golfers are probably the most demanding group in the practice. They never want to miss their round or beat their friend’s the next round” added Dr. Schlobohm.
