MADISON, NJ - The Drew University men's basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 77-63 victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy Wednesday night in Baldwin Gymnasium.
Sophomore guard Mike Klinger led Drew (11-13, 5-8 in the Landmark Conference) with 24 points and also finished with three assists in just 28 minutes. Sophomore forward Jason Huelbig collected 14 points and 10 rebounds for Drew.
After Merchant Marine (12-12, 6-7) rallied to take a 47-46 lead in the second half, Drew closed out the game with a 31-16 run in which the Rangers shot 58 percent from the field. Sophomore forward Kevin-Michael Miller keyed Drew's defensive effort with five blocked shots.
Drew will play its final regular-season game Saturday at 2 p.m. at home against conference opponent Juniata of Pennsylvania.
