SCRANTON, Pa. - The Drew University men's basketball team lost on the road Wednesday night to first-place Scranton, 67-63, in a Landmark Conference game.
Senior John Ford scored 14 points for Drew (10-12, 4-7) in a losing effort. Ford also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds in 30 minutes of action for Drew. Sophomore Mike Klinger also scored 14 points for the Rangers.
Scranton (19-3, 9-2) would go on a 7-0 run to open up its largest lead of the first half, 19-10, with eight minutes left. Sophomore Brian McLaughlin led Drew in scoring at the half with seven points.
Scranton opened the second half on a 7-0 run to open a 35-24 lead.
McLaughlin, with 12 points, joined Ford and Klinger as the only Rangers in double-figures.
Drew looks to keep its playoff hopes alive as the Rangers head to Baltimore on Saturday for a rematch with conference foe Goucher. Drew defeated Goucher, 79-74, in their first meeting.
