WEST CALDWELL, NJ - A vehicle was involved in an accident at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on Lane Avenue, West Caldwell, which may have happened after the female driver was stung by a bee. According to West Caldwell Police Captain Gerard Paris, no summonses have been issued as the investigation into the cause of the accident still continues. Ptl. Anthony Kazoun is the investigating officer.

A neighbor, Janna Smith, reported to West Essex TAP that around 2:30 p.m. she heard a “loud explosion” sound. Smith described that when she came out of her house she viewed her neighbor’s car smashed in and a car up against her other neighbor's tree. She later saw that the car which was hit in the driveway had bumped up into the car in front of it in the driveway.

It appeared to Smith that the car was headed south on Lane Avenue towards Westville Avenue, crossed over the yellow line and ended up on the properties on the other side of the road and eventually hit the tree.
