On 5-18-13, a Byram Twp. Police Officer was observing traffic on Rt. 206 and heard a motor vehicle crash occur. The officer responded and found the location of the crash. During the crash investigation, it was determined that Andrew Direnzo of Byram Twp. had driven into the back of the other vehicle. After speaking to Direnzo, the officer felt that Direnzo may be intoxicated. Direnzo was then asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed. Direnzo was arrested and transported to the station where he consented to and failed two breath tests. Direnzo was charged with the following and released to a family member pending a mandatory Byram Twp. Municipal Court date: Driving While Intoxicated, Underage Driving While Intoxicated, Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in a Motor Vehicle and No Seatbelt
