The Madison Area YMCA is pleased to announce that it will extend its Kids Central Drop & Go babysitting hours to accommodate the Madison public school district’s parent-teacher conference times on Monday, November 4, Tuesday, November 5 and Wednesday, November 6. Hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., which is during Kid Central’s regular babysitting hours.
Family membership holders may drop off children who are at least 3 years old and leave the building for a maximum of two consecutive hours--$15 for the first child; $10 per additional child. All children must be 100% potty trained. This offer cannot be combined with regular babysitting time while members are using the facility. Availability is on a first come, first serve basis while space is available. No snacks are permitted in Kids Central.
Members must sign up at least 24 hours in advance in person at the Welcome Desk. Online registration is not available. Phone calls are not accepted. Current family information, including local emergency contacts, must be on file.
Extended hours will also be offered during future parent-teacher conferences for families whose children are in the Chatham and Florham Park public schools as well as local parochial schools.
If members find that the Y is not offering extended Drop and Go hours on the day of their parent-teacher conferences, call to discuss arrangements with Kids Central Coordinator Lauren Martin at 973-822-YMCA (9622) ext 2305.
The program is not available to non-members.
Drop & Go babysitting hours are usually Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids Central is the Y’s indoor playground for preschool/school-age children. Features include a cargo bridge, trolley glide, gym ring challenge and monkey bars. A dedicated toddler area includes stand-alone elements such as a hippopotamus beanbag, animal-shaped rockers, wall-mounted games and stationary sit-on cars/animals.
