Duke University Chorale at Grace Madison Friday

The 55-voice Chorale sings at 7:30 Friday in Madison as the last stop on their spring tour.

MADISON, NJ - Grace Community Music announces the last minute addition of a concert by the DUKE UNIVERSITY CHORALE  Friday March 14 at 7:30. The one hour concert by the 55-voice ensemble, completing their annual Spring Tour, will feature works by Rachmaninoff, Bernstein, Whitacre, and Billy Joel, as well as spirituals and folksongs. The community is welcome to this free concert, although freewill donations are welcome to defray costs.

The Duke University Chorale, the primary choral group of the Department of Music, presents both sacred and secular music ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary works, and from serious works to more relaxed ones. The Chorale has toured China, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, England, Wales, Mexico, and many parts of the U.S. They are conducted by Rodney Wynkoop and accompanied by Mary Hamilton.

“Rodney Wynkoop was my first conducting teacher at Yale, and I am very excited to host the teacher who influenced me to do what I do!” said Dr. Anne Matlack, music director at Grace.
