Dwayne Vanderveer of Madison Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Newark

NEWARK, NJ - Dwayne Vanderveer, 33, of Madison was killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday in Newark. 

According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio, Vanderveer was operating his Suzuki motorcycle traveling north on Grove Street in Newark when he collided  head on with a 2001 Honda traveling south by the intersection of Grove and Grain streets in the West Ward at 3:15 p.m. 

Vanderveer was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. The driver of the Honda, from Cape May, New Jersey, was treated for non-fatal injuries at University Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Unit and the Newark Police.
