CHATHAM, NJ - Julia Moorehead, 22, of Chatham was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vechile, according to a report by the Chatham Borough Police.
On Aug. 3 at approximately 2:20 a.m., patrolman Roy George was dispatched to a complaint of a car driving down River Road on a flat tire. He located a 1997 Dodge at Stanley Park, which was driven by Moorehead. Moorehead showed signs of intoxication and was given field sobriety tests. Moorehead was then placed under arrest for DWI and was brought to headquarters for breath testing. After processing, she was released to a family member.
On Aug. 3 at 11:40 a.m., patrolman Andrew Chase investigated a two-car accident on Main Street near Hedges Avenue. A 2005 Nissan driven by Wayne Kasbar, 51, of Summit, was stopped in traffic on Main Street when he was struck from behind. The driver of the other car was Dimple Ambooken, 35, of Florham Park. Ambooken told Chase that she turned around to check on her child in the rear seat and did not realize traffic in front of her stopped. No one was injured and Ambooken was issued a summons for careless driving.
On Aug. 2 at 10 a.m., patrolman Jeffrey Battiloro investigated a two-car accident on Watchung Avenue near Hillside Avenue. A 2010 Lexus driven by Christopher Johnson, 39, of Chatham, was stopped in traffic when he was struck from behind. The other car was a 2007 Lexus driven by Elizabeth Iervolino, 56, of Morris Township. No one was injured and Iervolino was issued a summons for careless driving.
