DWI, Marijuana Charges for Driver on Main Street

April 15, 2014 at 4:10 PM

CHATHAM, NJ -  William Joyce, age 21 of Florham Park, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle.

On April 14 at 1:07 a.m., Patrolman Wayne Shivers was on patrol when he observed a 2000 Dodge traveling westbound on Main Street. His attention was drawn to this car because it was making a lot of noise which he determined was due to the car riding on a rim because it had a flat tire.

He stopped the car on Main Street, just into Madison, and made contact with the driver who was identified as  Joyce. He exhibited signs of being under the influence of liquor or drugs so field sobriety tests were performed. As a result of those tests, Joyce was placed under arrest.
