WEST ORANGE, NJ - The dynamic duo of Greg Goetz and Paul Ames led the St. Patrick Track team in it's most recent meet at the OLS Invitational.
Goetz and Ames both cut 12 seconds off their personal best mile times with both breaking the 6:00 barrier. Goetz finished second in the 1600m race in 5:46 and Ames finished 4th in 5:55.
Other highlights of the day for St. Patrick included Sarah Wittmer, who set a 7th grade girls record in the 800 meters for St. Patrick in 2:48 and 4th grader Kevin Agnew, who set the 4th grade record in the 800 in 2:57. Seventh grader Patrick Nolan became just the fourth St. Patrick runner in school history to exceed 14 feet in the long jump.
So far this season's team of 60 runners have already set 14 school records. The St. Patrick track team is back in action this weekend at the Holy Trinity Invitational in Westfield.
