CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Coral Springs firefighters put out a blaze Friday morning in a house just off Rock Island Road near Wiles Road.

The fire in the attic of a single-family home at 7109 NW 42 Street caused heavy damage to the garage area, but minimal damage to the rest of the home, according to Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department.

No one was injured in the blaze that was started shortly before 4:30 am.

The Rock Island Road was temporarily closed in both directions between NW 42 Street and NW 40 Street while firefighters extinguished the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
