Eastside Knocks off JFK in Boys Basketball, 69-52

PATERSON, NJ - The Eastside High varsity boys basketball team continued its recent mastery over crosstown rival John F. Kennedy on Friday with a 69-52 victory on opening night.

Juniors Asem Johnson scored 32 points and Shakir Juiston had 13 points and nine rebounds for Eastside, which maintained its lead throughout the second half after leading by nine at intermission.

Eastside defeated JFK twice in the 2012-13 season.

For JFK, Alphonso Gee finished with a team-high 25 points and also had three assists and two steals. Aalim Jones scored 14 points and handed out a team-high four assists for JFK, which also got 10 points and a team-high six rebounds from Jalani Morris.
