EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Dr. Victor Valeski describes the plan for the East Brunswick Public Schools reopening plan for in-person or distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in the attached video. Parents will be asked to choose either a hybrid - some in-school instruction and some at-home learning or all online learning for the first semester of the 2020/21 school year.
Students who choose the hybrid model will attend class from 9;10 am to 1:15 pm. Students in this model will be broken into four groups. Students at home will log in for live instruction at that time. After two days, groups will switch. Unlike this past semester, there will be synchronous (all students in class at school or at home at the same time) and asynchronous (Students will work independently or in groups to have discussions, work together, or complete assignments.)
Staff and students who attend school are required to wear masks in school on buses. Masks are not required while eating. It is imperative that parents update their contact information so that students can be picked up within thirty minutes if they begin to show symptoms of COVID-19.
Cleaning practices have been upgraded to include hospital-grade disinfectant.
Parents are asked to complete their forms and make their choices for the first semester by August 14.
