EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Tempest is believed to be Shakespeare's last play. It tells the story of Prospero, the exiled Duke of Milan, who lives on a remote island with his daughter, Miranda. Supernatural creatures live there as well, such as Caliban, the monstrous son of a witch, and Ariel, one of many magical spirits. During his exile, Prospero has become a great magician—and when he learns that those responsible for his exile will be sailing near his island, he summons a storm that leads to a shipwreck. Those on board have no idea what’s in store for them as Prospero uses his powers to seek his revenge. The EBHS Drama Club is excited to place their own spin on this classic.
