Edison, NJ – Three Edison students will be the recipients of scholarships presented by the Edison Arts Society.
Paschal Okeke from Middlesex County College will receive The EAS Angelo Orlando Scholarship.
Louis Forgione from Edison High School will receive The EAS D.J. Dittman Scholarship.
Cynthia Cao from J.P. Stevens will receive The EAS Unity Bank Scholarship.
Several students are recommended by the respective art teacher and the Society’s Board selects each recipient. To qualify for the scholarship, each student must have a 3.5 GPA, attend one of Edison's public schools and must provide examples of their work.
"The best part of being President of EAS is presenting scholarships to our future artists. Previous recipients have purchased singing lessons, another student has purchased special cameras as she wanted to be a professional photographer and one other recipient purchased a sewing machine as she wants to be a fashion designer. What greater pleasure than to help someone fulfill their dreams? We are so fortunate to help someone achieve their goals," said Gloria S. Dittman, President of the Edison Arts Society.
This is the fifth consecutive year that the Edison Arts Society has awarded the scholarships.
The scholarships will be presented on May 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Edison Arts Society Gallery on the 3rd floor of the Municipal Building. The presentation is open to all residents.
