Edison to Celebrate Fourth of July with Live Music and Fireworks

EDISON, NJ – Plans for the community’s annual Independence Day celebration to be held Friday, July 4, at Papaianni Park were announced by Mayor Thomas Lankey and the Edison Township Council.

Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with music by the Trash Mavericks, an Edison-based band, followed by Runaway, a popular Bon Jovi Tribute Band.

After dark and following the musical performances, at about 9 p.m., Garden State Fireworks will put on an Independence Day fireworks spectacular that will light up the skies over Lake Papaianni.

Families should arrive at the park early and bring low-backed lawn chairs or blankets to secure a good viewing area.  There will be food vendors and kiddie rides at the park starting at 5:30 p.m.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – A crash on Route 130 Friday morning critically injured a motorcyclist, police said.
