The annual fundraiser for Platinum Minds, a 501c3 not-for-profit based in Chester since 2006, will take place on Thursday April 14, 6-9:30pm, at The Olde Mill Inn, 225 Rt. 202, Basking Ridge.  The “Education for All” fundraiser will feature elegant seated dinner, a silent auction, and live music provided by the Dimension Band (www.smoothproductions.com), a multi-piece band of accomplished musicians.  A feature component of the evening will be Platinum Minds scholars, speaking about their learning experiences provided by the organization.  Tickets for the evening are $100 per person, and may be ordered by going to http://www.platinumminds.org.  Elegant attire is recommended for the evening.

Platinum Minds (www.platinumminds.org) specializes in providing academically gifted young men with educational opportunities for professional and personal growth.  Youths who take part in the programs are selected from economically disadvantaged areas, taking them out of challenging neighborhoods and providing them with better education and social opportunities so they can grow and become positive influences in their respective communities.  Platinum Minds programs include leadership development workshops and events, reading instruction for boys in grades 1-5, a “Connect to Your Dreams” education initiative for those in grades 5-8 and their parents, scholar mentoring, and a summer camp program that includes academic course work, leadership development, and health and life skills education.

Yvette Long, Director, is seeking corporate sponsorships, business advertising for a souvenir program for the evening, and donations of items for the silent auction, at rates ranging from $2500 for a table of 10 at the Benefactor Level to $50 for a business card sized black and white ad in the souvenir program.  All funds will help Platinum Minds to continue to provide its educational opportunities during its 2011 season and beyond.  Those interested should provide ad copy and donated items on or before Wednesday, April 6.  Payments may be made out to “Platinum Minds,” and the organization’s mailing address is 95 W. Main St., #5-166, Chester, NJ 07930.

“In a time when school funding and teachers are being cut, it becomes even more critical to support outside ventures that can make a positive difference in people’s lives,” stated the Director.  “Platinum Minds has a four-year track record of success in that regard, and we would welcome your support, as we provide you with a splendid evening out in return.”
