MILLBURN, NJ – The field of candidates for the November election to fill two available seats on the Township Committee includes two Republicans and two Democrats.
The Millburn Short-Hills Democratic County Committee announced this week that it has selected Cheryl Burstein and Stephen Thomas to run for the seats.
Burstein, an attorney, has been a township resident for 26 years and currently serves on the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
Thomas, a 20-year-resident, ran for the committee in 2011, but lost. He has been active in local issues including downtown parking and business as well as youth sports for many years.
The Republican Municipal County Committee selected Robert Tillotson and Dr. Matthew Lipp to run.
Tillotson, the current mayor, is in the final year of his second term on the Committee.
Lipp is a ten-year resident who is a doctor specializing in pain management. He is also a member of Millburn’s Planning Board.
