ELIZABETH, NJ — The Elizabeth Public Library has expanded their virtual programming to include more interactive events for both kids and adults.

For adults, that comes in the form of an online sewing class that will be held virtually every Monday until the end of the year. The sewing class will specifically focus on making masks and participants should have their own fabric, needle and thread, ruler and any other supplies necessary.

The class will be held from 5-6 p.m. and residents will have to email the instructor Luz Arrieta at sewinglot@gmail.com to register for the course. The information on how to connect to the course and further instructions will be sent via email.

Kids programming has introduced two new puppet shows that will be streamed on Facebook live.

The first show will be Chris Palmeri, a puppeteer and actor, performing “The Missing Magician.” The puppet show will begin at 5 p.m. on November 13. The second show will be puppeteer Matt Sandbank on November 20 at 5 p.m. Sandbank’s program will be unique because it is a shadow puppet show, using light and cutouts, among other tools, rather than traditional puppets.
