Enchantments’ Open House to Celebrate 'Shop Small Business Day' on Saturday

November 29, 2013 at 7:00 AM

FANWOOD, NJ – While most people are focused on Black Friday for shopping, Enchantments in Fanwood is gearing up to promote the American Express’ nationwide “Shop Small Business Day” with an “Open House” on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Enchantments’ open house will feature themes of traditional small town scenes showing how the holiday used to be celebrated.  “After all, the 'shop small' idea is to remind people not to forget their own hometowns among the hectic 'Black Friday' and 'Cyber Monday'," said Enchantments’ owner Helen Ling. “Small businesses have always been here, as a part of your main street and strength of community.  As statistics show, more than half of the money spent in independently owned stores will come back to its own community through taxes, jobs and services.”

The “Shop Small” campaign, which is in its third year, is gaining momentum as more and more consumers realize they could contribute in a big way  by shopping at small, independently owned businesses. And, when consumers use their American Express Card they receive cash back. (full details at https://shopsmallneighborhoods.americanexpress.com/ )
