WEST ORANGE, NJ - It's the end of era in West Orange as Pals Cabin, the iconic landmark restaurant, is being demolished to make way for a new CVS Pharmacy.
Opened in 1932, the restaurant welcomed celebrities and patrons from all over the state. On June 1, the restaurant finally closed its doors. Speculation about the restaurant's closing was longstanding, and in March, the West Orange Zoning Board approved plans for CVS to build a 24-hour, drive-through pharmacy at the location.
These photos were taken this morning around 11:30 a.m. from the rear parking lot. The front of the building facing Prospect Avenue has not yet been demolished.
