CHATHAM, NJ - Win the contest and watch everyone wear it when the race is held Oct. 20.
St. Patrick's Parish is holding its fourth annual 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run next month and is looking for contestants to design the T-Shirt that will be given to the runners..
All ages are welcome to enter the contest. Designs are due by Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. so that the committee can choose the winner in time for the Oct. 20 run. Contestants should send their designs to St. Patrick Parish Office, 41 Oliver St., Chathan, or email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Custom T-shirts will be given to the first 300 entrants. Post-race refreshments with music provided by a DJ, as well as special prize drawings are planned for the event.
Proceeds from the community event will benefit St. Patrick's Parish. St. Patrick School and organizations in the Chatham community in the memory of Father Edward Hinds.
The entry fee for the 5K race is $20 if registered by Oct. 10. After Oct. 10, the fee is $25. USATF-NJ members pay $18 and the fee for the 1-Mile Fun Run is $15.
Pre-race packet pickup will be held at the Chatham Sports Shop, 257 Main St., starting Oct. 16 through Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Register online or by mail at: www.compuscore.com. Checks should be made payable to: St. Pat's Community 5K, PO Box 154, Chatham.
On the day of the race, registration will open at 8:30 a.m. The 1-Mile Fun Run starts at 10 a.m., followed by the 5K Run at 10:30. The awards ceremony is set for 11:30.
