ESSEX COUNTY, NJ - On Wednesday, Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. alerted the public to not be alarmed this weekend if they see increased police activity in the area. According to DiVincenzo, police will be involved with drills at the Essex County / Caldwell Airport in Fairfield in preparation for the Super Bowl. Specifically, on Friday afternoon and Sunday evening, military aircraft and helicopters will be landing and taking off at the airport and performing practice flights.
"We are honored that they have chosen our airport as their landing site and pleased that we could have a small role in helping make this national event a success," DiVincenzo commented.
The Essex County Sheriff's Office and Fairfield Police will be involved with the security drills and the Fairfield Fire Department will be on standby at the airport while the military aircrafts practice their flyovers.
