Essex County Prosecutor's Office Offers $10,000 Reward in Newark Murders

WEST ORANGE, NJ -  A $10,000 Reward has been announced by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the Essex County Sheriff's Office for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the double murder of Manu Smith, 24, of Hillside and Harry Lovengood, 21, of Newark.

The announcement came today from Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura.

On Feb. 15 at approximately 12:20 am, the two young men were fatally shot in the 100 block of Milford Avenue in Newark.

The public is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force tips line at 1-877-847-7423. The reward is contingent upon information leading to an arrest and identification of the responsible person(s).
