WEST ORANGE, NJ - The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is looking for high school juniors to participate in their Summer Internship program. The announcement came from Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray. The five-week internship program offers opportunities for students interested in law, law enforcement, and local government to get hands-on experience and exposure to the various aspects of law enforcement.
The Summer Internship runs from July 7, 2014 through August 8, 2014 and is open to Essex County students completing their Junior year in June, 2014.
The curriculum and experiences will include: Learning about the role and function of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office; participating in New Jersey State Trooper Youth Weekend (a residential program); observing a jury trial; and participating in a mock trial. In addition, the Interns will learn about various government agencies, visit local colleges and universities, and participate in workshops on business etiquette--to name a few.
