FAIR LAWN, NJ - Local business and youth leader Ryan Greff has received a 40 Under 40 Award from the largest stateside circulating Irish-American weekly newspaper.
On Feb. 26, Greff, a Fair Lawn Boy Scout leader and member of an economic task force at Ramapo College, received a 40 Under 40 Award from The Irish Echo. Founded in 1928, The Irish Echo is the largest circulation Irish American weekly newspaper, with a 50-state subscription base.
Greff received the award in recognition of his service leading the Economic Recovery Task Force Initiative of the New Jersey Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Ramapo College. The SBDC at Ramapo College is a federal-state-education partnership, primarily funded by the United States Small Business Administration, that provides no-cost business management counseling and information services to small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. Greff has led the Economic Recovery Task Force Initiative, which is composed of professional business management consultants and student volunteers, to deliver comprehensive support to a regional economy of over 40,000 small businesses.
“This honor is extremely well-deserved," said SBDC Regional Director Vincent Vicari. "Ryan has played a significant role in the planning and execution of the center's Economic Recovery Task Force Initiative. The center continues to deliver critical aid to small businesses to help them get through the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The 2021 Irish Echo Top 40 Under 40 Awards is a celebration of Irish and Irish Americans who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields of work before reaching the age of 40. The Top 40 Under 40 Awards aims to spotlight the up-and-coming leaders of Irish America from around the nation who work in a variety of fields and occupations.
The awards presentation included remarks from Dan Mulhall, Ambassador of Ireland to the United States. Rachael Rollins, District Attorney of Suffolk County in Massachusetts, was the keynote speaker. Honorees from around the United States were recognized at the ceremony.
