Fairfield Police and Fire and PSEG Respond to Circuit Breaker Fire at Clinton Road

Power restored to area

FAIRFIELD, NJ - Saturday night at 10:22 p.m., the Fairfield Fire Department responded to 67 Clinton Road where a circuit breaker had caught fire. According to Fire Captain Jay Artale, the fire spread and burned through the top of its utility pole. Fairfield Police closed Clinton Road between Ray Place and Oak Street while PSEG put out the fire. The fire department left the scene once the fire was out; the police and PSEG remain there while the circuit breaker is repaired and the utility pole replaced. The power grid was turned back on to Clinton Road, Ray Place, Oak Street and Brook Street by 2:15 a.m.
