NEWTON, NJ—With the announcement that Fall Sports were allowed to begin on September 14, the realization that a portion of the Fall season has been missed is noticed.
Newton High School seniors who play a fall sport have been invited to submit information about how COVID-19 has affected them during their final season of the sport. This is the 10th installment of a multi part spotlight article.
Donovan Thomas is a senior who plays center back on the Newton High School boys soccer team.
“Practices were a little different due to the precautionary measures,” said Thomas, “but were overall good.”
Thomas talks about what his experience has been like playing during the final fall season in soccer during the pandemic.
“My experience during the whole pandemic had been fine. We are lucky enough to still have a season,” he said.
The Newton High School boys soccer team ended the 2020 season with a 9-2-1 record overall.
