CHATHAM, NJ - In a scene reminiscent of recent October storms, a tree uprooted the sidewalk on Carmine Street and landed on top of a house at the corner of Coleman Avenue on Monday, knocking out power to parts of Carmine and John streets.

Jersey Central Power & Light sent a crew, which removed the wires and tree limbs from the top of the house and worked on restoring the power.

AlertChathamBorough sent out word that tree limbs and brush from the storm would be picked up for residents who placed the debris curbside before 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
