Fanwood Girl Hosts 4th Annual Autism Awareness Bake Sale


SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- On Saturday, April 26, 2014, for the fourth year in a row, Mallory Banks of Fanwood will serve as a 2014 Autism Awareness Junior Ambassador and host a bake sale and raffle to raise money for Autism Awareness month. 

Mallory will be donate the money she raises to Autism New Jersey in honor of her brother, Ethan Banks, and all people affected by an autism spectrum disorder. The bake sale and raffle will take place from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Parker Gardens (1325 Terrill Road in Scotch Plains). Last year, she raised $2,600 and was in the top 10% of kids in New Jersey who raised money for Autism Awareness month.  This year with the help of family, friends, neighbors and local merchants, she’s hoping to surpass $3,000.

This year's fundraising effort will include raffles and great prizes, including gift cards from Oh' Brian's Pourhouse, Ruby and Jenna, Fabio's, Tinga, JCC of Central NJ, Darby Road, Cool Vines, Guillotine Salon and Spa, Diva Nail & Spa, Ginger Sushi, Rosie’s Wine Bar, Double Dipper, The Turning Point, Roman Boutique, Fanwood Bagel, Trattoria Bel Paese, and more.

On Saturday, April 26, Nick’s Pizza in Fanwood will donate 20% of all food sold during that day to Mallory’s bake sale and will also accept donations for Autism NJ. In addition, Mara’s Café and Bakery will donate 5% of each Triple Chocolate cupcake sold from Weds, April 23 – 30.  The Stage House Tavern in Scotch Plains, will donate 10% of every bill to Autism NJ if you mention Mallory’s bake sale.
