FANWOOD, NJ - Mayor Colleen Mahr hosted lunch on Friday at the Carriage House for Fanwood's paid staff and volunteers who got the borough through Hurricane Sandy one year ago.

The mayor and Police Chief Richard Trigo looked back at the storm's impact with thanks to the many individuals who worked hard to help the town cope with the storm's effects, which included power outages for up to 13 days, no cell phone service, downed wires and trees, and property damage.

Present were employees and volunteers of the Dept. of Public Works, Police and Fire Departments, Rescue Squad, Library, administrative office staff, Borough Council and others who contributed to the recovery. To look back on the storm one year ago, go to: http://www.fanwoodnj.org/news/archives/ .
