FANWOOD, NJ – The Carriage House Poetry Series will be presenting a free event on Tuesday, December 10, at 8:00 p.m. in the Kuran Arts Center on Watson Road, off North Martine Avenue, adjacent to Fanwood Borough Hall.
The scheduled event will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Carriage House Poetry Series with music and words featuring distinguished poet Mark Doty and composer/lyricist Brian Celardo.
Mark Doty is one of the most distinguished and popular poets in the United States. He is the author of numerous collections of poetry, most recently Fire to Fire: New and Selected Poems (Harper Collins), which won the National Book Award.
Among numerous other honors and awards, Mr. Doty has received fellowships from the Guggenheim, Ingram Merrill, Rockefeller, and Whiting foundations and from the National Endowment for the Arts and he was elected an Academy of American Poets Chancellor in 2011.
Mark Doty is currently Distinguished Professor and Writer-in-Residence in the Department of English at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where he directs Writers House.
