MILLBURN, NJ - A 12-goal first half carried the Madison varsity girls lacrosse team to an 18-4 victory over Millburn on opening day Wednesday afternoon.
Ari Goret scored four goals and passed for one assist for the Dodgers, who held a 12-4 halftime lead. Michelle Montagna had three goals and one assist, Laney Rutland scored three goals and Molly Fishter contributed four assists to go with two goals of her own.
Madison outshot the Millers, 22-6. Emilie Flamme made two saves in goal for the Dodgers.
Brynn Taylor and Lauren Taylor each scored two goals and had one assist, and Sophie Smith and McKenzie Rambusch notched a goal apiece.
The Lady Dodgers host Northern Highlands Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. in their second game of the season.
