MADISON, NJ (July 23, 2014) — Award-winning author Nick Flynn, will read from his work at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in a program sponsored by Morris Arts and Fairleigh Dickinson University’s MFA Program in Creative Writing. Admission is free and open to the public.
Flynn’s most recent book, “The Reenactments,” completes the trilogy he began with “Another Bullshit Night in Suck City,” which won the PEN/Martha Albrand Award, was shortlisted for France’s Prix Femina, and has been translated into fifteen languages. Flynn is also the executive producer and artistic collaborator for “Being Flynn,” the film version of “Another Bullshit Night in Suck City” and he has authored three collections of poetry, including “Some Ether,” which won the PEN/Joyce Osterweil Award, and was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
He has been the recipient for fellowships from The Guggenheim Foundation and The Library of Congress, as well as other organizations. He is a professor in the creative writing program at the University of Houston.
