SPARTA, NJ-The Alpine elementary school celebrated their end of the year Field Day on June 16 and 17. The first, second and third grade student enjoyed activities, friendly competition and food on the fields behind the school. The field day was the culmination of the Physical Education curriculum for the year. It was a way for each of the grades to all get together for one fun day before the school year ended.
Staff and volunteers organized and ran the various events. Some of the favorite stations were the wet sponge throw, the leaky bucket relay and the obstacle course.
“Fun was certainly had by all, and the beautiful weather on both days was the perfect send-off to the summer,” said Physical Education teacher Lisa Patarito.
Kyle Markovich, Physical Education teacher said, “A special thank you to the volunteers for taking time out of their day to help out and to the PTO for the healthy treats they provided.”
