NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Fireworks will once again be a feature of this year's Independence Day Celebration in the Borough thanks to a donation of $11,000 by investors Bank. Adding to this year's festivities there will be even more giveaways by Club Souren atop the NP Fuel Jets Truck.
The Independence Day Celebration will occur on July 3 at 7 p.m. with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
This is not the first time that investors Bank has financially supported the event, which is a mainstay in the Borough for young and old alike. While traditionally, fireworks on the Fourth of July had been funded by the Borough through tax dollars, when the recession hit, many town governments, including New Providence, eliminated funding for the event rather than financially burden taxpayers. Since then, in New Providence, with the assistance of the Borough, the New Providence Business & Professional Association (NPBPA) took over planning and organizing the event and investors Bank came on board as the primary sponsor and funder for the past several years.
Independence Day Committee Chairperson and member of the NPBPA Ted Kapuscinski said, "Investors Bank has come to the table again this year in large support of the event. Without that support, the event couldn't take place."
Club Souren, sponsored by KJS Design & Technology, will DJ the event. Don Murphy of NP Fuel will donate the use of the NP Fuel Jets Truck for the festivities.
Free chalk, donated by Kapuscinski Luongo Architects and Martial Arts for Life, will be provided for children to create art along South Street. Additional programs will be announced, as well.
Daniel White, Retail Market Manager for the New Providence branch of investors Bank, said, "As an active community partner, we are proud to sponsor this year's fireworks. The commitment of investors Bank to our community has never been stronger."
Michelle Brugger, President of the NPBPA and owner of Martial Arts for Life in New Providence, concluded, "The New Providence business community does so much for the Borough but it takes businesses like investors Bank to provide what is really needed to make the Borough's events such a huge success."
Additional sponsors and donations for the event are welcome. Anyone who would like to sponsor or donate can contact Michelle Brugger at 908-464-2836 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
