The South Plainfield school district is excited to announce the First Annual District Art Festival on Friday, March 14, 2014, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. This event, which will take place in the big room of the South Plainfield Senior Center, will showcase the tremendous talent of our K-12 student artists.
Inspired by various artists and cultures throughout history, student work will include a variety of media, including chalk, pastel, pencil, crayon, watercolor, acrylic, metal, paper mache’ and pottery. Additionally, projects will include face drawing using symmetrical balance and proportion, collages, Australian bark paintings, tessellations, tapestries, and drawings from observation.
A special thank you to the South Plainfield Senior Center for hosting the event and the Cultural Arts Commission for sponsoring the event. Under the direction and guidance of the district’s talented Art Department staff, the students have created an impressive array of artwork. We are confident you will have a great time and look forward to seeing you on the evening of March 14th.
