SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The South Orange Jewelry and Art Exchange (SOJAX) will present its first art exhibition opening on Thursday July 17, from 6-8:30 p.m. at 67 South Orange Ave. Their in-house gallery, Compelling Images Fine Art, owned and operated by Jacquelyn Roesch-Sanchez, will present “Color Grid Re-Visions,” featuring the collage paintings of Florence Weisz.
“Ms. Weisz has developed a unique medium using color pigments dissolved in alcohol and with them has created her signature collages in a process that is both intuitive and analytical – art that appeals to the heart and the intellect,” said Roesch-Sanchez. The exhibition will feature abstract art works on paper that combine free-flowing organic forms within geometric structures.
Also on display will be the photographs of Joseph Grisafi. Originally from the Bronx, Grisafi has lived in South Florida since 2001 and has been inspired by the region’s flora and fauna. He utilizes photography and digital graphics to capture arresting images.
As a part of the South Orange Jewelry and Art Exchange in collaboration with Ross Fields of Robyn Ross Jewelry, Compelling Images Fine Art showcases an extended collection of more than 250 limited edition fine art prints, created and signed by artists from the New York art scene from 1975 through the present. The current collection on display also includes a diverse collection of fine jewelry and diamonds along with Native American, Mexican and Jorge Jensen jewelry as well as original, hand-crafted scarves.
