SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Gov. Livingston wrestling team took a fourth place finish at Saturday's NJSIAA District 16 wrestling tournament at South Plainfield High School with five wresters advancing to the regions.

David and Connor Vill were top finishers for the Highlanders as runner-up in their respective weight classes. Gov. Livingston's fourth place finish (98.0 points) was behind St. Peter`s Prep (220.5 points), Seton Hall (213.0 points) and Linden (131.5 points).

David Vill topped Ian Coleman of JFK Memorial by fall in the Semifinal round in the 132 pound semi final, and lost to a tight 5-4 decision to Conner Decker of Seton Hall Prep in the Championship Round.

Conner Vill won by fall to Kenneth Rosenbaum of Linden in the semifinal round and lost to Julian Todd of St. Peter's Prep by a 15-5 Major Decision in the Final. 

Both wrestlers will advance to the Region IV Tournament where they will be joined by teammates sophomore Harrison Kelly (126 lbs),  senior Greg Friedenberg (152 lbs), and Joe Scalora (160 lbs). 

Region Wrestling, which takes place at Union High School for Region IV will begin on Wednesday.
