Flood and Severe Storm Warning in Westfield Friday Evening


WESTFIELD, NJ — Update: A flash flood watch remains in effect until midnight Friday night.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning Friday in effect for the area until 5:45 p.m. and a flash flood warning in effect until 8 p.m.

The storm produced between one and two inches of rain per hour and the weather service warned people to movie indoors immediately to avoid being hit by lightning.
