BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Livingston Lancers football team had one of its best team performances of the season on Friday, defeating Bloomfield, 33-12, for Livingston's fourth consecutive win.
Giving credit to the performance of the offensive line, Livingston head coach Robert Breschard noted that Joe Cullen and Brian Russo combined for more than 300 rushing yards.
“We were blocking the best I’ve seen us block in my three years here,” he said. “Between the line and the other guys who need to block for us to get those big plays, we really did a nice job.”
Cullen was the first to put the Lancers on the board with a 38-yard touchdown—the first of two for the senior on Friday.
Jack Ernst was also a standout for the Lancers on Friday, passing for nearly 200 yards and running a touchdown. Russo and Tommy Werner each added a touchdown in the victory as well.
Defensively, Breschard said junior Will Egner stood out after watching the film from Saturday’s game.
“[Bloomfield] is a team that really tries to run to the perimeter and [Egner] kind of single-handedly changed the entire game plan for them right from the beginning of the game,” he said.
Livingston, currently 4-1 overall, returns home on Friday to take on East Orange at 7 p.m.
