Footloose: The Musical Dances Onto OSPAC Stage July 23-25

July 21, 2014 at 8:53 PM

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Footloose: The Musical is coming to the Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center July 23-25 beginning at 8:00 pm and will feature the talents of Taana Gardner, a vocalist well-known for her impact on Disco music in the late 1970s.

The popular 1984 film was translated to the stage in 1998 and features the story of Ren, who moves to a small farming town from Chicago and discovers his new town is rife with rigorous local edicts including a ban on dancing. When the preacher's daughter decides to rebel against her dad and his dance ban, she sets her sights on Ren as her boyfriend attempts to sabotage Ren's reputation.

The musical shows that there is much to learn from our youth.

Ever since bridge repair closed a major thoroughfare near my house, the traffic on my sleepy street has increased dramatically.  And it is not by accident that commuters have figured out ...
