Former East Orange Student Precious Osagie-Erese & News 12 NJ Producer Speaks at School Wellness Event

EAST ORANGE, NJ - As new ambassadors of Fuel Up to Play 60, students from East Orange schools will lead the charge to create healthier school environments this Tuesday May 8, 2018 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm at Sojourner Truth Middle School Cafeteria B (3rd Floor) 116 Hamilton Street, East Orange, NJ 07017.

Fuel Up to Play 60 is an in-school nutrition and physical activity program from the American Dairy Association North East (ADANE) and the NFL.

Teaming up with school meals provider Sodexo, ADANE will host an interactive training featuring new menu items and physical fitness activities ambassadors can use to fuel wellness at their schools.

Former East Orange student Precious Osagie-Erese a News 12 Network Producer will be be a featured speaker. Also in attendance will be Dr. Monica Burton, Sojourner Truth Middle School Principal, Roxanne Moore, MS, RDN, PMP, Sodexo National Director of Wellness, School Services and Students from Sojourner Truth Middle School, John L. Costley Middle School, and Patrick F. Healy Middle School

Studies show students that are granted more access to healthier food options and physical activity perform better in the classroom. The goal of this intuitive is to empower more students within the district to become leaders and help create a healthier environment at school utilizing resources available from Sodexo and Fuel Up to Play 60.
