Former Morris County Clerk Joan Bramhall Found Dead in Arden Road Home

MORRISTOWN, NJ – Longtime Morris County Clerk Joan Bramhall and her husband were found dead inside their Arden Road home in Denville early Thursday morning. 

In a statement from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Prosecutor Knapp said, “although the investigation is in the preliminary stages, there is no indication that there is any threat to the public.”

Multiple sources confirmed that the deaths are under investigation as a murder-suicide.

Bramhall was a long-serving political figure. She became a freeholder in Morris County in 1993. Bramhall served as Morris County Clerk from 1999- 2013 and retired after her third term was complete.
