Fourth of July Celebration to be Held Monday

July 4, 2014 at 5:00 PM

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - With the annual Independence Family Festival having been canceled Friday due to wet conditions, the entire festivities are rescheduled for Monday at North Branch Park in Bridgewater.

The event was canceled due to tropical storm conditions predicted for Friday, as well as the wet conditions at the park because of the heavy rains of the previous two days, which led to an inability to shoot the fireworks display, according to a release from the Somerset County Park Commission.

On Monday, the grounds will open at 3 p.m. There will be children's activities, a Revolutionary re-enactment and food for purchase beginning at 5 p.m.
