June 14, 2014 at 4:10 AM

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Franklin School’s 4th grade class bid farewell to Dr. Genco this past Thursday.  The 4th grade class will be moving on to Grant School next year, but they wanted to say goodbye to Superintendent Genco before he leaves for the Jackson School District this fall.

The 4th grade students sang Dr. Genco the Franklin School Song, and held up signs saying “Thank You Dr. Genco.”  The school also gave Dr. Genco a thank you signed by the entire school class.

Dr. Genco announced he was leaving the South Plainfield School District last month. Genco said that although he is excited to go to Jackson, leaving his current position is “bittersweet.’’  He said “I care very much about South Plainfield and I’m very proud of the things we have accomplished here in a short amount of time,’’

The South Plainfield School District ends its 2013/2014 school year on June 20, 2014.
